peaking upon a controversial topic that has gained momentum recently, implementing the death penalty, T.M Dilshan – a former Sri Lankan Cricket captain, clearly indicated where he stands on the issue. T.M. Dilshan applauded the Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena, who is at the forefront of the decision to implement the death penalty for drug traffickers.
According to Dilshan, implementing the death penalty for drug traffickers is long overdue. Furthermore, not only the drug smugglers but child abusers and rapists should also be included in this category to create a safe society for all, Dilshan elaborated.
According to data collected by the Sri Lankan Police Department, a woman gets raped every four hours, and this is an upward trend from previous years.
