Ronnie Leitch, a gifted comedian, and popular entertainer, both in singing and acting, passed away unexpectedly due to cardiac arrest, yesterday (October 1st) in Perth, Australia.
With movies such as, “Cherio Darling” “Onna Babo” and “My name is Bandu,” Ronnie became a household name among Sri Lankans. The song “Thattaya,” (1989) was one of his most successful songs, which he performed with the Gypsies.
According to Keerthi Pasquel, the Chairman of Sri Lankan Singers Association, Ronnie was attending a musical show in Perth and his body will be brought to Sri Lanka after an autopsy.
A father to two children and a beloved artist, who has created an unforgettable name for himself in Sri Lankan Cinema, Ronnie Leitch will be missed by many.
