The Europe Union has imposed a blockbuster $5 billion fine on search giant because of its business practice with Android OS & it’s ecosystems. However, the jaw-dropping penalty will impact almost all the US and non-EU companies the way they do businesses in EU.
Google has required all Android device manufacturers to offer Google Play app store pre-install with their devices. Historically, EU had a concern about this practice and maintained that such tactics eliminated small competitors from the market and cemented the google’s dominance.
The $5 billion fine (4.3 billion euros) is higher than 2.4 billion euro fine that European union hit Google in a previous case about comparison shopping via search partners
Search Giant has 90 days to eliminate the agreements that force device creators to pre-install Google apps, but Google plans to appeal against the penalty.
